Korgers and lovely bastas:
I want to know if it is possble to find out the presence of a specific string into another, in concrete if a user surname is present into a file name.
For the files I am using Jens DIRLIST(), I also have the surnames in a database wich I can handle.

Thanks in advance. [Razz]

You mean like...

code:

InStr ($filename, $surname)

??

I think he does mean INSTR() or INSTRREV() and not a SQL query. Just not sure why he cannot find that in the KiXtart Manual?

Thanks Shane!!
Now I remember I saw this function at the manual [Roll Eyes] and more than once I think, very good one, I would have swear that I would have needed an UDF for this....cool !!

Yeah..as u can see I allways come up with the sillyest questions...thats me!! Cannot help it. The intresting thing is that I dont get [Embarrassed] any more......maybe I grew up no?

Jlo basta bro:
I think that execquery() would help if both data fields are in the same database, not this case that I have surname on database and files into a folder to be picked up with DIRLIST(). no?

Thaaanks.

Jens bro:
Thanks you very much for inviting me, but to be honest I never participated cause I allways thought the KiXgolfing was a difficult stuff to accomplish.
Maybe it is only a myth and is an easy game... sure it is but if you dont mind I take a look from the gallery for a start to see how you guys drive along then maybe take a chance k?

IŽll be watching.

Hey guys, get your feet wet. I am lost everytime I read the initial KiXgolf post. [Frown] Just like now, I have no idea what is required. But you can bet that in 3 or 4 days, I will have a score to post. [Big Grin]
