Very nice subject guys.
My mother, appart from giving me a lot of love gave me her genetic back dissorder and since I was a kid I had to see doctors to adjust it.

I have been arroung trying different stuff but I finnaly discovered swimming wich exercises both sizes equally and I have been dong it since then.

I think this is not a "see the doctor matter" cause the moment I went I have heard things like "watching your radiograph you should be in bed by now" and that stuff really took me down, might have been technically right but morally wrong cause it only stoped me from going forward cause I felt I had a desease.

What made me get along was exerciseing and not seeing any doctor any more. ...It is a matter of self conduct, as my back cannot hold me I have to suppot it with my abdominals. I once bought a book about back health and it said how much weight our back supports while we are sitted down, I am gonna check it.

Havent heard about RSI before. Nice links Co

It's all about taking adequate breaks and a coorect workplace setup that reduces strains. The Computer Workplace Guidelines are actually pretty reasonable if implemented correctly as they effectively increase productivity.

We might not know but every time we take a look to our computer screen our eyes are doing an incredible and silent job.

Any computer, tv or cinema screen works on cicles (like movie frames) wich are needed for refreshing and redrawing all the information that is delivered to the screen in different ways so if we take a look at any of these devices we might not have a clue that is actually turning on and off from 50 to 75 times per second and here is where the miracle is done without even knowing. You believe that guys!!

The amazing job that the eye does is to take an average from the last cicle steady the signal and send it to the optic nerve in an understundable way for the brain, all this in an incredible short period of time. This can be demostrated if you take a video camara recorder and film a screen, you see the cicles because the camara does not steady the signal.

It is not very common to hear this from a sales man who is trying to sell you one of these devices but is one of the reasons why we get tired just for looking at the screen.

These are some hints for easing the pain.

- Use LSD screens.
- Use big screen in order to place yourself as far as you can.
- Try to have natural ambient light or whatever looks like natural ambien light.
- Use antireflex glasses and screen protectors.
* Get regular, diversed exercise
* Take at least 5 mins every hour for some stretching

I really wish we have harmless devices to make our health better in the future.

Our company implemented this software. Works great. Pain in the ass sometimes as it really gets in your face during heavy computer use, but that's what makes it work.

Well Jens these are new generation monitor where you buy the seed to plant it on the back yard.
After three weeks you have a lovely big flower interface with petals to interact with.
Colors can be chosen at the shop with 3d animation samples.
This particular manufacturer took very seriously the enviromental issue.
