How old is your notebook? At the moment the biggest discussion in the shops are the period of guarantee. Most of them supports only one year, but the boss knows he should support two year. This period is based on European law.
The strange thing is that some manufactories just downgrade their period of three years to only one. Of course as European you can always claim a two years period.
The best shop we know is www.alternate.de, which not only returns an excellent service but also their materials are very accurate and the prices belong to the lowest in our country.
Jpols, IBM knows exactly what service means.
Our advise is: look always at the manufactory site what their service is. greetings.

Dear jpols,
An interesting situation is with asus. They have change their period from one year to three years guarantee. No discussion necessary. This information we have find on the German site.
Jpols or another, do you have same experiences with memory chips with mostly an extra warranty lable from reseller on it. Same experiences that those chips get damage. General the temperature of memory chips are 30/35 degrees Celsius.
We prefer as memory chip kingston, but not the additional lables on it. greetings.
