You can expect a blank database
Hmmm... Our Florida guys used Arc Serve and had problems for years. We finally got them to use BackupExec and that worked great for them while we were on stand-alone NT4 hardware. Now that were on Windows 2000 and SAN hardware we keep having issues as well with BackupExec
Guess no one has flawless backup software.

Lligetfa,
ummm.
As the database access is slow, it sounds to me [as your subject line says] as though the ARCserve databases have been corrupted. Try reinitialising them, or have you done this already?
Lonkero,
I am running ARCserve 2000 with the MS Exchange 2000 agent without a problem.
What errors are you getting? What version of Exchange are you running?
Just a few comments about BackupExec. I've used this in the past, albeit a version or two ago, and I really didn't like it. Within weeks I went back to ARCserve!
Having said that Computer Associates Technical Support website is absolutely sh1te! You tell it you are using ARCserve 2000 and then run a search and the search results give you information on a whole range of products.
I like the ARCserve product, but CAI's website and documentation are bad!

Les,
Don't have much experience with ArcServe.. I just know Veritas is a pain in the ...! Especially, when they try to backup all servers on one Windows box (including UNIX!)
'Nuff said.
