KiXtart historically has always had a specialized niche and scope of deployment in the the logon script arena (limited usage). It feature set and functionality has alway been somewhat limited and specific to Windows clients (limited usage). With the release of 4.02 (recently in historic terms), KiXtart now has improved features (UDFs) and access to additional functionality via COM. This release was a milestone in increasing the functionality and usablility of KiXtart for other scripting tasks.
Just as Perl has module authors that produce added functionality not included in the base Perl product, KiXtart has Shawn and Kixforms expanding the functionality of KiXtart.
Each of those other languages has specific strenghts and weaknesses. KiXtart just hasn't been around long enough and has not gotten the general scripting exposure that the others have. Did I mention it historically had limited usage?
