Erik and All,
You misunderstood my last message. Perhaps it was slightly acerbic, none the less, I have resigned myself to the fact we will not have as organized a UDF library as what ScriptLogic is working on.I have reversed my position. I think that a lot of good UDFs may not make it to our library because the author may not request it be posted here. They may become lost in the "scripts" section, quickly buried by the shear volume. A UDF could conceivably stay in limbo in "scripts", the thinking being that it is not worthy or needs just a little more work.
I (and probably most of you) have noticed that in the 12 days since its debut, not one UDF has made its way to our library, but several have been posted to "scripts". Are they voting with their feet?
This forum has thrived on loose rules, not unlike the loose program rules of KiX itself. So, I say open it up. If users follow the guidelines then great. If not, then we'll have something less, but at least we'll have something.
It is (or will be) what we make it. Perhaps self control, peer pressure, and consistent moderation, will keep our library from becoming diluted. Let's start with one simple rule, that for a thread to start, it must include a UDF.
So Martijn, please open it up, and EVERYONE, POST YOUR UDF!
