By calling a bat file from the run command in the registry you could do this. Of course, there would be no domain so the domain variables would not be available. Of course you could set this machine specific in the same script you run from the run key. You could central your scripts by attaching a central share during the machine specific portion of the script then you continue with the generic portion of the script.

You would need to ensure that kix was correctly installed locally on all machines as well.

I think this should work for Win9x machines as well.
