btw, seems that even patrick is doing something on the board...
02:00 must be late night check before going to bed.

It wasn't me at that time... Left checker rc2 with timer fix running at work.

"Mods" can you see if it's still active???

Jooel, I have been able to read the UDF forum and output the href link and udf names sorted by udf so far. I have to add some logic to filter out the page links when more than one page of a single udf exists. Next will be to capture the multiple pages of UDF recursively and return the complete list.

This is easier then I expected.

Kent,
I wouldn't really call it a 'monster' but wonder if it's exaggerating the guest count.

BTW, Jooel said he was going to leave his checker running for the 11 days he's away, but I don't see him in the Buddies list so wonder if it crashed on him.

That post count thingy had me worried for the past few days. Also noticed (i think) that KORG went down a couple of times today ... maybe that cleared things up. Should keep our eyes on that puppy though ...

Yeah, it was come and go, like border radio.

I was thinking maybe Jooel or MCA was responsible for the guest counts... probably running crawlers.

Jooel is out of the pic now and MCA may have caught up on his downloads and is doing a bit of off-line browsing.

Didn't think to check the stats on the weekend.

With regards to the guest count: Could it be that search engines and spiders will show up as guests?

I thought of that too but then they would almost certainly drive up the page hits on http://www.nedstatbasic.net/s?tab=1&link=1&id=756895 but weekend stats don't jive.

Les, I have been working on a Perl version of Jooel's udfCollector and have downloaded the UDF library many times over the last 5 days. Could that be affecting the results you expected?

Could be... excet that one would expect it to run up the numbers on this summary but it doesn't jive with it either.

http://www.kixtart.org/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=pntf

It would seem the guests aren't going very deep or else UBB just isn't tracking them.

Hey guys, I am working with Jooel to provide a solution that can maintain a UDF library on a Linux server.

I have made some logic changes to his original code and would like to get some feedback / suggestions so that I can just about wrap this up by the time Jooel get back from vacation.

Link --> UDF library collection

Please take a look and let me know what you think. Take a look at the Array() UDF. I have reformatted the page to remove the special descriptive postprep text leaving the function definition. All code can be copied directly to your text editor. [Smile] (No more Word.exe) [Big Grin]

Here is the original link Original UDF-Collector
