thanks for that Les, I used kix back in 2000 but not much since, I have some vb programming experience and ran your script, i got the following error:

ERROR : expected expression!
Script: D:\kix\kixrenamecomputer.kix
Line : 18

I thought it could have been the ' in the wrong place or something simple like that, I downloaded the kixforms.dll but couldnt get the exact same ver you had.. I have v2.3.0.45 is it my version of kixforms or the version of kix32?? 4.23
