Rad,
Just curious..
Is there an option to create a SETUP.ISS file?
Maybe that can be leveraged for it?

the only part that uses LDAP here is the reading of OUs... which of course provides the computernames to connect to.
I'd assume the simplest translation, would be into subnets.
There are ways to ping subnets for PCs and return their names... it is of course, much slower than ldap.
There may also be ways of querying Wins servers of computer names on their segment... I dunno.

Rad,
Sweet!
Started to look at this..
Would be nice to have in the EnumOU function where it would read the $ldap string listed already above..
List all printers attached to a workstation.
Get a DAT File Date from Mcafee.
Give the ability to add a printer - remotely.
If you wanted to get real tricky read the properties of the ou structure and parse 'em out..
Anyway, good stuff!

Yea.. I put that ldap strung there, but fo som reason it doesn't work... I haven't gotten around to figuring out why. It is only used in one place...
the list all printers is easy... I have it currently filtered to only return local printers.
Addind printers is harder.. the whole impersonation thing makes it difficult. I suppose I could make it deliver an Icon to the user's desktop... then they could click it to install.
McAfee updates would have the same problem (at least if you use a proxy w/ authentiaction) as the impersonation does not have network permissions. [ 11. December 2002, 19:34: Message edited by: Radimus ]

Rad,
For the Dat Dates, maybe do something like that of the ePO console..
Hmmm..

however... If the was a source locaion, I could make it copy the file to the target, and run an update from the local source...
