I just started using settime and it works great. One thing you may want to consider is setting you FR server to get time from an external time source. Do a search on the web for public NTP time servers in your time zone and pick one as close to you as possible. Some questions in general about time servers: 1). Is a FR server considererd a stratum 1 server if all the other servers in your network will pull time from it and client will pull time from the other servers? What is the difference between stratum 1 and 2? 2). It is my understanding that all Windows 2000 servers will automatically get the time from the FR and the clients will automatically get it from their local DC. Is that correct? So the settime parameter is only really needed for 9x and nt clients on a W2K network? 3). Is there a way to specify multiple servers in the command net time /setsntp:<server list>? I would like to specify a secondary server in case the first time server is unavailable.
