LASAD LASAD Getting the hang of it Registered: 2001-10-02 Posts: 60	NTDOC, This is a good site for such Info, however, it is all Exchange related tools. I my self would be very very intrested in kix solution applicable to the PST file itself since we are still using MS Mail 3.5 and outlook 2000 as the mail client in our company. I'm looking for COM solution were I can quickly find the PST file size and report it back to the user in my login script in case if he exceeds the space limit. Note, I don't want to go for full Quota manager type solution though. TKS SAM

I assume you could ascertain the file location either from an INI or the reg. _________________________ Give a man a fish and he will be back for more. LASAD LASAD Getting the hang of it Registered: 2001-10-02 Posts: 60	les_ligetfalvy, Thanks for point me in the right direction, I think you are right, if only I can find the registry key which points to the user's PST file location that would be exactly what I needed. I checked my PST file in the registry and I did find the registry key, however, it was like this (HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging Subsystem\Profiles\Supervisor\34cc8d211f49d611aac300d05911b4be) which is different from one user to another. Is there another way to read the PST location other than using INI file?. Note: I do use profile generator for outlook 2000, however, users sometimes change the location of the PST manually, therefor I think the registry is the best place to read the current location. Les Les KiX Master Registered: 2001-06-11 Posts: 12734 Loc: fortfrances.on.ca	Sam, I run a Lotus Notes shop, so am not the best to advise on M$ Mail. Now this is going back a ways, to WFW 3.11 actually, but back then it was stored in an INI. You have to think like the program. It too has to find the file. So, if it is in a unique key, then somewhere there has to be a value that IDs that key. A bit of reverse sleuthing. Search for the value holding the path. If in unique key, search for the value pointing to the key. Alternately, you could recurse the reg keys and do your own search. Do a search on this board on the words "PST location".
