Getting the hang of it

Hello,
I recently implemented a new section in my logon script to check for and create outlook profiles. It checks for and creates them fine but if the user has an Internet E-mail service account set up it is deleted on the next login. Any suggestions??? The Fire Chief is REALLY TICKED OFF...

Code
;***************************************************************
; This section creates an outlook profile.
;***************************************************************
; Uses the NT variable %username% to check for the existence of
; the Exchange folder, Outlook.prf and then creates the user's
; profile. The Outlook.prf file in line 2 is a default file and must
; be modified for each user.
;if not exist (b:\%username%\%username%.prf)
; copy "c:\winnt\outlook.prf" "b:\%username%\%username%.prf"
;if not exist (b:\%username%\%username%.pab)
; shell "%windir%\newprof.exe -p b:\%username%\%username%.prf -x -z"
;***************************************************************

I had loads of problems trying to get this to work and eventually gave up and used a free prog from www.redfox.co.uk
It is very good and saved me a lot of time.

I agree with PBlay.

The software is really neat, easy and FREE!

The user's outlook.prf is stored in the user's home folder on the server and as uch any changes unique to the user is confined there.

My clients LOVE the roaming Outlook profiles.

Hmmm, interesting perspective. The "problem" that you guys ran into was something that I actually needed. Because allowing a user to check their private email bypasses the virus protection on your Exchange server, my organization chose to implement a policy prohibiting this. We enforced this in two ways, blocking the port on the firewall that allows this, and using ProfGen to overwite all existing profiles with one that only includes the Exchange server.
Your fire chief may pissed at losing his profile, but just imagine what he, and others , will think if he introduces a virus that bring your server to it's knees. We suggested to our management that they forward their personal accounts to their work account, thus making everything come through the Exchange server virus checker.
