If you are using KiXtart 4.10+ then I would HIGHLY recommend the following two lines in the beginning of your scripts:

$rc=SETOPTION('Explicit','ON')
$rc=SETOPTION('NoVarsInStrings','ON')
They will force you to declare all variables (therefore detecting spelling errors) and properly enclose strings in quotes. This will eliminate a lot of debugging.
