#7482 - 2001-03-12 12:00 AM Registry adjustments during logon.
Anonymous Anonymous Unregistered	I have some entries in my script that should adjust the proxy settings from the IE 5.5 during the logonprocedure. Unfortunatly they aren't working when loging on. They are working when I execute the script manually. What is the cause of this and what can I do to solve it? Here are the lines that are causing the problem: ;============Adjustments Proxy settings Internet Explorer============ WRITEVALUE("HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings","ProxyServer","PROXY-ADSL:3128","REG_SZ") WRITEVALUE("HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings","ProxyEnable","1","REG_DWORD") Thanks, Leo

Anonymous Anonymous Unregistered	Thanks for the support. The HKEY_Current_user Key isn't available during logon. Therefore there's is only one option and that is using the 'runonce' key and start a script after the logon procedure. Although win9x isn't new for me this was new for me. I've seen that I wasn't the only one with this problem. Leo

Jack Lothian Jack Lothian MM club member Registered: 1999-10-22 Posts: 1169 Loc: Ottawa,Ontario, Canada	Under certain circumstances "current use" is available during Win9x logon. If you turn profiles off entirely the "default user" is always the "current user". Editing the default user keys automatically edits the current user. We do it this way but it means we must load at logon registry packets based upon groups, sites, etc. _________________________ Jack

One question. Do you recommend to always write to the HKEY_USERS\.Default or does it matter if I wtite values to the HKEY_CURRENT_USER?
