Hi, I'm trying to run my login scripts on my Windows 95 clients from Windows 2000, but the scripts just would not run. The steps that I have taken were
a)copy kix32.exe, kx95.dll, kx32.dll, kx16.dll, login.kix (this is my kix script) into c:\Winnt\Sysvol\sysvol\domain\scripts (i.e. netlogon folder)

b)create a batch file call login.bat and put it into the above folder. The contents of the batch file is as follow:

NOT EXIST %windir%\kix32.exe copy \\servername\netlogon\kix32.exe %windir%
IF NOT EXIST %windir%\kx32.dll copy \\servername\netlogon\kx32.dll %windir%
IF NOT EXIST %windir%\kx95.dll copy \\servername\netlogon\kx95.dll %windir%
IF NOT EXIST %windir%\kx16.dll copy \\servername\netlogon\kx16.dll %windir%
\\servername\netlogon\kix32.exe \\servername\netlogon\login.kix

c) specify at the user's profile, to get the login script from \\servername\netlogon\login.bat

d) I have only one Windows 2000 Active Directory DC

d)login.kix is as follow
break off

; assign variables for directory and group drives

$u=@USERID
$c=SUBSTR("$u",1,4) ; department of the user
$x=lcase("$c")

SELECT
CASE $x="depa" OR $x="depb" OR $x="depc"
use k: "\\servername\appl" ; map appl dir
use l: "\\servername1\data" ; map data dir
use i: "\\servername\@USERID" ; map home dir

SELECT
CASE $x="depa"
use p: "\\servername\Data1" IF (INGROUP("GPDEPA_SQUAD_K") OR INGROUP("GPDEPA_SQUAD_ONLY_K"))
use j: "\\servername\Data1" ENDIF

CASE $x="depb"
IF INGROUP("GPDEPB_A_ASSEZ")
use n: "\\servername\assez" ENDIF

ENDSELECT

CASE $x="depd" OR $x="depe"
use g: "\\servername2\appl" ; map appl dir
use h: "\\servername2\data" ; map data dir
use i: "\\servername2\@USERID" ; map home dir

SELECT
CASE $x="depd"
IF INGROUP("GPDEPD_A_ASSEZ")
use n: "\\servername2\assez"
ENDIF

CASE $x="depe"
IF INGROUP("GPDEPE_D_MASA")
use j: \\servername2\masa"
ENDIF

ENDSELECT

ENDSELECT

cookie1

e) When a Windows 95 client logs onto the domain (Windows 2000) domain, the scripts does not run. In fact I suspect Kixtart did not start at all.

f) Help! Which part did I do wrongly. Did I omit any steps? Thanks a million.

Specify just the file name "logon.bat" you do not need the full UNC path to the file.

Aside from that, it all looks good.
