I know this has been said a bunch of times, and I have searched the forums here for this, but couldn't find a specific answer for it.
When we back our machines up in the office, the Local Settings folder does not synch, and this is where the Outlook profiles are kept. We would like to come up with a script that will backup the Outlook file, and copy it to our user folders on our server. We need to take each individual outlook profile, and place it in their respective user folder. Any ideas for a script would be greatly appreciated.

Better yet, if there's a way to take each users Local Settings folder and place them on their user folder on the server, that would be awesome.

Hi,
There are two keys that you can edit for what you want. HKEY_Current_User\Software\Microsoft\Windows\currentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders Local AppData (Change the value to the userdirectory in the server , then the pst files won't be copied)
HKEY_Current_User\Software\Microsoft\Windows\currentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders Local AppData (Change the value to the userdirectory in the server , then the pst files won't be copied)
Of course under Windows NT you have to replace the Windows with windows NT in the key
I created a script to put the whole user profile on the server, am only correcting it and implementing a firstlogon so it would be automated with new users(Because you need to have an user.dat file for the user in the profile directory).

Thanks Carlo.
If you have it, I'd like to take a look at that script you made. It sounds very similar to what I need.

The only reason we want to copy the Local Settings folder to the server is because the server is the only machine that gets backed up. For some reason, the Local Settings folder does not synch to the server with the rest of the folders on the users machine. If there's another way to get the Local Settings folder onto the server, we could do that, but this was the first thing we thought of.
