I am wanting to create a GUI based window, similar to the "Establishing network conections" message windows gives you.

Since I run my KIX script hidden, I want to display some sort of message that tells the user that the system (with it's blank screen) is not locked up.

I don't want the user to have to click on it, or for it to stop execution so a MessageBox will not work for me.

Any ideas? [Smile]

Well, sure...

I just posted a sample logonscript using KiXforms. You can get it here.

Your best bet would be to use the KiXForms DLL, which enables KiXtart to create Windows forms. Check out the following thread KiXforms - Logonscript Sample and download the DLL at http://www.kixforms.freeuk.com/downloads.htm

If you think registering the DLL is too much, there is another option.

Shawn wrote a small wrapper for EI called KiXPop (KiXWin.exe) that you can place in \NetNogon and call from the script. It will display html content. A search for "KiXPop" in the scripts forum should get you quite a few hits.

There is of course one other option... that being to call IE with COM. Lots of examples in the COM forum.

You could also just Kix32 to pop up the console and put some text, a spinner, or just dots to indicate activity.

Jooel,
Lighten up... maybe I'm dyslexic. [Roll Eyes] Are you working on your post count? [Wink]

Another cool way to amuse and inform is with M$ Agents. Have Merlin or Genie or another cast member keep their attention.
