We agree with you that all kind of measure can be done, but first thing we must do:
- find a nice structure with fit the way to the rest of the site. it has impact for
all pages. - find a faster way of processing information.
- implement all kind of wishes from members.
- be accurate on possible changes of board input we are using. this month we need
additional time to solve a strange problem with one of the member names.
Currently we are working on a way of get more information about email addresses.
The addresses are implementing in a secure way, which makes it more difficult for
virus-software to use it for unwanted things.
Other task is the creation of some graphical presentation of collected information.
About your median ranking suggestion:
- it is important that we can collect those information always at the same moment. During
our holidays there will be a gap. - "newbies" and ranking aren't a big problem. as "newbie" for TOP25 list you must have
at least 213 entries. A year ago it was enough to have a TOP10 place.
The TOP100 list represents only 1.82% of all members. To enter 200 entries costs without
any dely at least three hours. For 3000 entries the time will be at least fifty hours. - to get a useful ranking it isn't only necessary to look at the quantity but all at
the quality of input. sometimes members are talking about a "chat" forum.
some members are situated in TOP50 list, but their input is very complete. An example
of such member is Ruud van Velsen.
by other BB software we see the possibility to see "how much user are reading your input".
So we can get more sight in of qualities. - also useful is "when was the latest post period of specific member". the amount of
"sleeping" members are decreasing all the time in our TOP25 list.
with a good graphical it much also be possible to show which members are currently active.
