I like your new statistics but I have a suggested enhancement:
If you want to measure "current activity", I think ranks would be better than straight counts. Monthly activity varies greatly & ranks compensate for this fact.
Perhaps you should rank the monthly contributions of each member & then choose the median rank for each member during the last 3 or 5 months. To eliminate the introduction of newbies into the list who are active for very short periods you cound limit the results to the top 100 (or 50) contributing members. Being in the top 100 (or 50) members effectively demands a base of about 50 (or 100 for top 50) posts before you get ranked.
I believe this statistic would give a real sense of who is "currently active".
Furthermore, I believe that that when the time comes to choose new moderators, this statistic could be very helpful. All the current moderators except Martinj would be right at the top of this list. Maybe we could introduce a rule that only members in the top 25 of this list would be considered for open moderator positions. This was close to my effective rule for choosing the voting list for the 2 open forums.
