failed to locate kx16.dll! Please make sure kx16.dll is present in %path% or %windir%Srs, Recently I upgraded my version of Kixtart to 3.60 and something is going wrong with this version of Kix in ny netowrk. About 20 desktops, running W95, started to show a error message during the logon process. The error is: KX16.DLL COULD NOT BE FOUND IN %WINDIR% OR %PATH%. The desktops was running kix32.exe from the netlogon folder. I tried to copy the kix files to the windows\system folder, with no result. I tried to edit the path in autoexec.bat, adding the follow: c:\windows;c:\windows\command;c:\windows\system, with no result I tried to run the Windows 95 bug 2000 fix, with no result What is happening? Hi, Fabio1-) %WINDIR% is only C:\WINDOWS 2-) if your problem persists check the size of KX16.DLL; if it's 0 (zero) Kb, deleting it's the right way. Then retry to logon. Best wishes

Fabio,I have had the same problem. This is a windows which i think can not be explained. I have resolved this by just copying the Kixfiles to the windows directory.

People,Thanks for replying to my problem. Something changed inside Kix that is causing this behavior. I expect that in the next versions these problems don't persists anymore. How can I contact the programmer that wrote the Kixtart? Antonio, The Kx16.dll is with the right size, and in my opinion don't matter if the %windir% is only the c:\windows, since I added all that directories to the path. Fabio. ------------------

I am getting this problem with a few Win 95 users as well. We are using KiXtart 3.61 and the script runs great on most 95 and NT users (although we are getting corrupt KIX32.EXEs on some NT machines). Any ideas how to fix this will be much appreciated!

I was receiving the same messages when I was migrating users from one domain to the other. It probably won't help, but I wrote over the files that already existed on the desktops with the ones that were located on the PDC.

I am also getting the same problem in an office in Stockholm. Only one Windows 95 machine. Have now upgraded the server to version 3.63 and copied files to C:\windows and C:\KIX and placed in the path with the same result. Any ideas is there a MS .DLL causing the problem, every other machine (Globally) is working fine apart from this one and the rest of the world is on versio 3.60.Please help...!
