Anyone know of a quick and handy way to force a desktop Auto Arrange of icons at the end of a script?

Yep, originally that may have helped but I just found auto arranging is not an option anymore, what I would ideally like to do, I honestly dont think is possible using Kix. I have 2 icons (Recycle Bin, My Computer) that are placed in the bottom right corner of the desktop, I dont want these to move. But these are the only Icons that are there until the kix script runs, then more icons are copied down. If autoarrange is present it yoinks all the icons to the left, Including the two I dont want to move. Ideally (and Im being difficult here) I would like the icons to be copied to a certain position on the desktop. Now, all I have searched in these forums and in Microsofts Technet has produced no registry options, nor can I find any in the registry myself. Honestly though its no biggie, I can live without it, I am just hoping someone else has encountered it before.

What I have works great, it is a single profile, locked down and mandatory, that has no icons (except the usual My Comp, and Recycle Bin) It is also all locked up by policies. What the script does is copy the icons down at login for Word, Excel etc, as each Call centre sub department uses different ones. And email is set via the registry. I find that is a lot faster than having the icons in the profile and also a lot more controllable. The only problem I have with it is the posistioning of the icons look ugly as they get copied over. Hence this topic
The beauty of it all is, the profile, while mandatory is also roaming, and because I have policies set that suck the profiles off at logout, no matter what they stuff up, relog in and its all back the same. ![[Smile]](images/icons/smile.gif) [ 08 April 2002, 16:58: Message edited by: Dean R ]
