Hi Francois,I tried just about everything I could think of, and can't make it work. I tried using Color() to set display colors to n/n, but the system ignored this setting and did w/n. I tried to hide the console and get the information, but that didn't work either. You might try shrinking the display window, I didn't try that yet. I think you might wind up having to write a small program to accept some input will displaying asterices that then saves the input to a file or to the registry and then read that from your script. I can't think of anything else to try. ------------------ Regards, Brad Consultant Net InfraStructure, Inc

I hadn't thought of using a different color than black! However, I had written a quick script to test this with yesterday. I made a change to have the user select a color then attempted to set the color display with that variable. I keep getting an error that I am using an invalid color argument. Does anyone know if it is possible to use a variable in the Color statement? Here is the code I was using to test: code:
CLS COLOR g/n at (7,10) "what color do you want to try?" at (8,10) "n - black, b - blue, g - green, c - cyan, r - red, m - magenta," at (9,10) "y - yellow, w - white" get $colr at (3,12) "you chose "+$colr at (10,10) "give me your password!" color $colr/$colr AT (11,10) gets $password color g+/r at (15,15) "Your password is: "+$password

I couldn't get the variable to work with the color command either. Your best bet is probably using a case Select/Case setup.color b/b ; default get $colr ___select _____case $colr = 'g' _________color g/g _____case $colr = 'w' _________color w/w etc.. etc.. ___endselect Mark Pearce mpearce@nbase-xyplex.com
