I've seen the fix somewhere, but where? My useres are clicking the "Cancel" button and the login script is not finishing. I need to remove the "Cancel" option. The "fix" I've seen involves using VB to modify a .dll file (I think) but I've lost track of the info. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello Markd and welcome to the board.

Mark,

remove any code that says BREAK ON and if your using any version of KiXtart 3.63 or newer it should LOG the user off if they attempt to cancel the script in any way or end task it.

If your using an older version of KiX, then you may need to upgrade.

BREAK ON is not in the script. the .kix script is called from a .bat file and that might be where the canceling is taken place. I am using the current version (2001).

They are not doing a CTRL+C/BREAK bail out. They are clicking on the little x in the upper right corner of the window, and I think I remember a window that has a "Cancel" button that they're hammering also.

Thanks.

Not sure... every version DOS/WINDOWS of KiX that I've seen since 3.63 logs the user off if the attempt to cancel it any any way.

Where is this button your talking about coming from. The script itself does not have it. A DOS Windows screen has the normal X in the top right, but if clicked before completing the script, the user gets logged off and has to start over again.

It seems like something else is going on here.. just need to try and track down what it is.

After we close down for the day, I'll go to the computer lab and duplicate the problem and make notes. I'll repost tomorrow. Which would be best, a reply or a new topic?

Just continue to reply here in this thread. Others can see and add their input as well. That's the beauty of this board. There are a lot of good knowledgable people here and most are willing to help out.

markd,
Spark up google and search on 'msnet32.dll' and 'cancel'

BINGO! Of course, it linked to www.kixtart.org/commandreference.html. That's what I was looking for. Thanks for the direction.
