Hi all

I am starting outlook from within a script. This part is fine, but the script wont finish (or close) untill outlook is closed down.

Any suggestions please...?

Many thanks,

Hi Lee

Show us how you are starting Outlook via the script?

Thanks

We are experiencing the same issue but we are having the problem distibuting the Anti-Virus updates. We launch NAVLU32.exe with a shell command and the logon process does not conclude until the Live Update is complete. Are there other options for starting EXE during logon. This would allow the users to work while the update is being performed when dialed up.

Although, if you do let your users continue to work whilst updates are applied, they probably won't be able to anyway.

My remote users whinge and bitch at me constantly "Everytime I sart Outlook after logging in I have to hit reconnect 3 or 4 times"
Funny that considering their little dialup modems are runnng full boar bringing into antivirus stuff. There just isn't enough bandwidth to spare for them to try other apps across the wire until those updates are applied.

We use Norton Liveupdate services which transfers "MicroUpdates" provided the users are fairly current. I used it today and only had a 421K Engine Update transfered to my dial-up in less than 1 minute at 40+K. Instead of the old method we used of executing SARCI32.EXE of the dial-up which was 2 to 3 Meg. Thanks for the RUN advice, I missed that one in the book.
