As mentioned above hidden shares is the way to go for deep root mapping for Win9x systems. Once you have your hidden shares setup insert the following in your script, changing the obvious of course.

$drive="\\servername\"+@hiddensharename+chr(36)
USE X: $drive

The $drive variable can be called what you want.
