However, KiXtart v4.21 is the current release, thus we should encourage people to use the current release, and not an outdated one.

I'd go with minimum requirements...

only nt&9x clients and no need for UDFs, 3.62 is sufficient

basic AD & UDF can get by with 4.02
advanced COM use needs 4.12
get with the program and don't hold me back is 4.21

nope, then it's 4.22 beta 1 [Big Grin]

but, like said, asked for 4.20 just to get proper error messages.
dunno was there any change between 4.21 and 4.20 but between 4.12 and 4.20 there is a lot.

I didn't ask him start using my suggestion.
I asked him to run once the script with it so could get real error message.

Was running an older version, of Kix. Now am current 4.21 [Smile] Script runs manually ok now from run command but does not run from script during login. Wonder is its worth putting in my hiddrv script than runs after login process.

Cheers

Steve

Radimus,

Now having updated to 4.21 have run your script, it just seems to bypass the first line,
code:
 if split(@producttype)[1]='2000' and split(@csd)[2]<'4'

as if it doesnt meet any of these conditions yet am running on unservice packed w2k client, strange...

Why don't you use Jen's UDF OSID to extract the OS type & Service pack info? I use this UDF at the start of most of my scripts in order to handle the various OS that are logging on. It is a bit of overkill but it helps standardize scripts.

Try :

code:

if split("@producttype")[1]='2000' and split("@csd")[2]<'4'

put some test print statements in there...

make sure that it is getting there
perhaps print out the values before the if statement, to verify that you are getting what you expect...
