I have 2 locations both running NT 4 SP6a as the PDC's. I'm using the same exact script in both locations and my secondary loaction will not map U: to the hidden user share. The clients are mixed 98se/2k/xp pro. I can manually map the drive so I'm at a loss. Here's the code.
Break on Call "@SCRIPTDIR\udf.kix"
Use F: \\clwprime01\sys Use I: \\clwprime01\apps Use M: \\clwprime01\data Use G: \\clwprime01\aty Use H: \\clwprime01\vol1 Use J: \\clwprime01\vol1 Use S: \\clwprime01\share Use V: \\clwprime01\users Use U: '\\clwprime01\'+@USERID+'$$'
If (@inwin = 1) ? "NT" Else ? "W9x" EndIf
:NT If 0=Exist('U:\TEMPLATES\') MD U:\Templates EndIf Copy '%appdata%\MICROSOFT\TEMPLATES\*.*' 'U:\Templates' Run "\\clwprime01\scan\scan32.exe" Exit
:W9x If 0=Exist('U:\TEMPLATES\') MD U:\Templates EndIf Copy 'C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\MICROSOFT\TEMPLATES\*.*' 'U:\Templates' Run "\\clwprime01\scan\scan32.exe" SetTime "\\clwbinary1"
Exit
Hopefully someone can help me out. Thanks!

The setup for the servers are pretty much the same. Names are different and both locations have their own domain. The servers are named as to the location of the office.(CLW & TPA) The only big difference is in the TPA office I have a 2k server where the users hidden shares are located. I set the quotes and error check. It appears to be working. Now the 98 machines are not copying the files to the folder it creates in the hidden share. Time to investigate that. Thanks [ 09. I've got time now since I don't have to try and support Gavin.

lol, I'm actually packaging 4.21 as an upgrade to our environment as we speak ! (we're still running 3.5x believe it or not). Going to be deploying in a few months ... and I'm happy just thinking about it ...
Truthfully, 4.21 seems to be the best release since (oh, way back) to 4.02 ... dont think I would touch anything other than those two.

I'm on 4.21 only because I'm learning as I go. I didn't have anything major setup when I started playing with Kix. Hopefully I'll be able to g=start doing some kool stuff although I'm limited with 90% of my machines being 98se. Hopefully that'll change soon.

Budget meeting last year. Me - I recommend upgrade to W2K on all servers and at least W2K on the desktops.
Them - Ummm... Is that really necessary?
Me - Well it would help stability and everyone crashing.
Them - We're doing ok now maybe next year.
LOL So I'm still stuck with 98 se. Sucks to be me! We may be moving offices next year and getting new PC's so hopefully I can get them to upgrade the servers too....

I'll give it a shot next time. At least We got them to upgrade their SQL server and dump the Novell 3.12 server. I guess I can't complain. The bad thing is it's hard to convince attorney's to spend money. ![[Big Grin]](images/icons/grin.gif) [ 09. July 2003, 22:17: Message edited by: Clayton ]
