I am unaware of any problems. Could you post the link to the thread you mentioned in your post?
KiXtart does not run on the server. It runs on the client. If you need to support Win9x computers then you may need to install the KXRPC service on the server.
I run KiXtart 4.02 on my Windows 2003 server via logon script every day without issue.
