I am starting completely over with KIXtart. I am convenced that my previous problem was user error. That means me. I was able to install KIXtart software on another workstation and manually run the script and it worked fine.

SO here is my question: I am running a AD domain. with mostly 2000 pro clients, what version of KIXtart should I start out with?

Thanks

Jim

KiXtart 4.21-RC2 in a test setup.

You would create a subfolder BETA inside the NETLOGON share of your DCs in order to not interfere with the potentially existing login scripts. Then you start with a simple script runnign the executables off the NETLOGON share. Then you expand to bigger, more complicated scripts. Once it all works for some test accounts you can release it into the wild.

And, of course, you should read the KiXtart Manual and the FAQ Forum before starting.

I am sorry to be bother I feel like I just am not getting the big picture.

If I login to the domain controller and run the script manually it mounts the drives.

If I login to my work station KIXtart runs but it does not mount any drives and I am no longer recieving an error in my event log.

Any suggestions?

This is difficult respond to without seeing the script. Perhaps you could post it.

Does the script run manually from the workstations? Did you assign the loginscript to your users?

youy are also amending the original question with unrelated problems. Please read ABC's of KiXtart board etiquette and message to new forum users , Section F, and restate your problem. You might even cosider starting a new thread as the original question was about the version of Kixtart to be used in a new login script implementation.
