Last week we upgraded 3 of our server from NT4 to 2K Advanced. I have reinstalled my kix scripting on the 2KA server, but am having numerous problems.

1. None of my variables now work in W2KAdvanced the complete path must be specified.
and
2. I am getting "script error, unknown command" for almost every Kix command.

KIX32.exe is in c:\ and c:\winnt\system32 file date is 11/24/1999. Originally installed from the NT4 resource kit.

The script I am using shells out to run SQL commands to check for Oracle problems. I can run all the scripts and batch files independant of the KIX script.

Any guidance would be great. I am not looking forward to recreating this in Pearl or some other language.

Firts of all, KiXtart 4.x is recommended for Windows 2000.

Secondly, what is an executable doing on the systemroot?

How do you call the script?

Post your script as you don't provide enough information.

How can a variable not work? A variable is just that.

I will update to version 4. I put the executables in c:\ as a troubleshooting step.. they have been removed.

If I still have problems with the newer version,
I will email you the installation batch file, as well as the script itself.

Thanks for the help. I rolled out the old .exe and replaced it with the new. Everything is now working without modification.
