I want to disable the preview pane in Outlook. Here is the script that I'm tring to use:
WriteValue ("HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\00020D75-000-0000-C000-000000000046}\Shell\Open\Command", "(Default)", "C:\PROGRA~1\MICROS~2\Office10\OUTLOOK.EXE /nopreview", "REG_SZ")
After the sript runs the changes aren't made.
Thanks

$ret=WriteValue('HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\00020D75-000-0000-C000-000000000046}\Shell\Open\Command', '', 'C:\PROGRA~1\MICROS~2\Office10\OUTLOOK.EXE /nopreview', REG_SZ)
basically change the "(default)" to an empty string "" [ 11. March 2003, 22:00: Message edited by: Radimus ]

I'm using the following:
WriteValue('HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\00020D75-000-0000-C000-000000000046}\Shell\Open\Command', '', 'C:\PROGRA~1\MICROS~2\Office10\OUTLOOK.EXE /nopreview', REG_SZ)
The /nopreview is not added in the registry
Thanks

I can see a real problem come to light..
One person may have MICROS~2 another may have MICROS~6..
Try this..
code:
$exe = ReadValue('HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths\OUTLOOK.EXE','') $ver = GetFileVersion($exe) ; -- Get version of executable for MS-Outlook $pos_locat = INSTR($ver, '.') - 1 ; - Look for where the dot is $verchk = SUBSTR($ver,1,$pos_locat) IF $verchk = '10' WriteValue('HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{00020D75-000-0000-C000-000000000046}\Shell\Open\Command','', $exe+' /nopreview', REG_SZ) ENDIF
