The default user directories created by the user manager are not shares & thus are not easily accessible with any non MS OS or an MS OS before Win2000.

With NT4 & above you don't need to map the user directory. Let the user manager do it. It has a special hook builtin that allows NT4 clients to hook up automatically.

Win9x was developed before MS introduced this new concept & thus can not work with these default pseudo-shares. As Howard says you must create actual shares for Win9x clients to use them. If you do this this your script will function for all OS.

As jens says Novell re-wrote the network re-director for Win9x so in a Netware environments you can do what you are trying to do. I not sure, but I believe that I read somewhere that installing AD on Win9x will allow one to deep map. Having never tried it myself, I can not verify this.
