I am working on my login script using Kixtart2001 version 4.11.0.0? Two problems I am having with Kixtart.. My login script works when ran from the user profile options however I don't get a GUI interface.
Second, when I try to using kixtart at the OU level assinging the login script here. I get an "error message that says cmd.exe was started with the above path as the current directory. UNC paths are nto supported. defaulting to windows directory". I have all necessary files in the script policy folder for that OU.
Is it possible to run kixtart at the OU level and not have to put a path in at each user's profile field?

KiXtart does not have a GUI interface. You will have to investigate KiXforms for that.
The error you listed about UNC paths is a DOS thing and should not affect the execution of your script. Does your script execute from the OU level?

No, it does not execute. It stops at that error message.

what is difference between the standard console-based and the windows version? When not using my login script at the OU level it works but everything is ran on one line accross the screen in a cmd.exe screen.
I would like to see a regular login screen similar to just a regular bat file used for login scripts in NT.
Here is a copy of my login script SETTIME "DOMAIN" "Greetings " @userid "Welcome to " @ldomain " domain" "Today is " @day @date "You are attached to the " @lserver " server" IF INGROUP("ITSTAFF") use i:"\\mbgserv02\users\IT" /persistent Endif IF INGROUP("ResearchStaff") use t:"\\mbgserv02\apps" /persistent Endif Use g:"\\mbgserv02\users\homedir" use p:"\\mbgserv02\apps" /persistent

code:
SETTIME "DOMAIN" ? "Greetings " @userid ? "Welcome to " @ldomain " domain" ? "Today is " @day @date ? "You are attached to the " @lserver " server" IF INGROUP("ITSTAFF") use i:"\\mbgserv02\users\IT" /persistent Endif IF INGROUP("ResearchStaff") use t:"\\mbgserv02\apps" /persistent Endif Use g:"\\mbgserv02\users\homedir" use p:"\\mbgserv02\apps" /persistent
This should atleast make the lines break for you. [ 11. February 2003, 01:13: Message edited by: CitrixMan ]

I dislike the persistent connection switch.
pet peeve: Assuming the script always runs, remembered connections are at minimum redundant and possible in the way when needing to change letter assignments.
