Hello,

Has anyone had success use deep redirection on NT workstations? For example:

use g: \\server\share\subfolder

Everytime I try, I get an error that it can't find the specified share. The manual for kixtart suggests that NT can do this. Is there a registry change I must make?

Regards,

Brad

As per page 13 on the manual, are you also running DFS? And have you tried using the SUBST command to thin the path string?

Thanks Anthony,

I need to read more! I missed the little part of needing DFS!

DFS isn't *required* for map rooting - it is one of two possible ways to do it. You can either set up DFS, in which case

use g: \\server\share\subfolder

will work, OR you shell to cmd.exe and use the 'subst' command:

shell '%COMSPEC% /c subst g: "\\server\share\subfolder"'
