Eric Larsen Eric Larsen Lurker Registered: 2002-10-17 Posts: 4 Loc: Tualatin, OR.	Running the latest version of Kixtart. logon script works fine when logging onto a workstation in the same domain yet when I log onto my terminal server It fails to execute. Manually running from \\server\netlogon\logon.bat works just fine. What am I missing on my terminal server? (win2K terminal server sp2) -Eric

Les and Kent, my logon.bat file is as follows. @echo off %0\..\kix32.exe %0\..\login.kix This works just fine for my 2k boxes that I am testing with yet will not execute on my terminal server. After reading q318689 I attempted this bat @echo off rem %0\..\kix32.exe %0\..\login.kix kix32.exe login.kix This failed to execute anywhere. All of my workstations are either 2K or xp so I do not need to worry about any 9x compatibility. PS. Kent I am just down the road from you in Tualatin, Or. Howdy neighbor. -Eric

Les Les KiX Master Registered: 2001-06-11 Posts: 12734 Loc: fortfrances.on.ca	Eric, If your script works from onther Win2k boxes then there's nothing wrong with how you call it. I suspect there's either something in the script itself or hor you have the TS setup. Start by creating LOGON2.BAT in netlogon with a simple "Hello World". I.E. @ECHO OFF ECHO Hello World PAUSE Then change the test user's profile to LOGON2.BAT and test if you make it that far. If it does move on to test #2. Change the LOGON2.BAT to launch a TEST.KIX script. F.E. Break On "Hello World" ? Get $_ See if that works. Les Les KiX Master Registered: 2001-06-11 Posts: 12734 Loc: fortfrances.on.ca	Then you need to look at the network settings on the TS like Client, Protocol, Binding and Provider Order, etc. Here's a cheat-sheet on my TS that outlines the logon process. After successfully negotiating the MSGINA, the logon script sequence is as follows: The Domain logon script as governed by the User Environment Profile The NetWare login script for the Organization FortFrances The WTS logon script 'C:\WINNT\system32\usrlogon.cmd' as governed by the registry key 'AppSetup' in 'HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon' All other scripts are called in turn from within usrlogon.cmd, Usrlogn1.cmd, Usrlogn2.cmd, and those in C:\WINNT\Application Compatibility Scripts\ or sub-folders beneath. While it is possible to assign logon and/or logoff scripts from within Group Policies, non are assigned at present. _________________________ Give a man a fish and he will be back for more.
