Anybody knows how to map a shared printer in a 95 Machine?
I've tried addprinter connection but this only works in NT box.

I too am having trouble mapping a printer to a 95 machine. I cannot find any information about the ADDPRINTERCONNECTION function. Does it work on 95? Must the drivers be pre-loaded on the machine?
Any help here would be appreciated.

thank you.

Here is a sample I hope you can use. First, test it before pushing it out to users.
select
case ingroup("P1")
use lpt1: "\\Server name\printer share name" /persistent
case ingroup("P2")
use lpt1: "\\Server name\printer share name" /persistent
case ingroup("P3")
use lpt1: "\\Server name\printer share name" /persistent
case ingroup("accounting")
USE LPT1 /DELETE
USE LPT2 /DELETE
USE LPT2 "\\Server name\printer share name" /persistent
USE LPT3 "\\Server name\printer share name" /persistent
endselect

I don't think addprinterconnection works in win9x. We do something like boxkite but for that script to work as it is all printers must use the same driver.

With different models of printers you really need the printers pre-installed (or you need a special script to add them) & you must change the default printer to point at the model you are using.

Sorry. What I sent you will not work. I've had my trusty assistant Igor strap me to the Rack and give me 20 lashes. Again, sorry to send you off course.

ADDPRINTERCONNECTION will not work in 95 the reason it works in NT is when you install a printer in NT it uses the drivers off the server. In 95 though you have to load the drivers first. I still have not figured out a way to do this easily. If anyone knows I would appreciate some help

Try using in
shell "net use lpt1 \\server\printer"
in your script
