I can agree with you about the .DOC format, but .chm is a compiled html help file that all versions of Windows can view. If your on Unix/Linux then hey you're probably doing it differently then the vast majority of Windows NT Admins. I could be wrong, but my guess is that "most" NT Admins run and use Windows NT/2000 as their desktop. If you're a Unix/Linux Admin then your main desktop is probably Unix/Linux and not NT/2000

You could also use PDF, but is has its other limitations. .HLP is the old format that has limits on topic size etc... .HTML is the current preferred method that has few limits.

My own personal preference though is .CHM as I find it easier to search, copy, and paste from.
