Konstantinos Livadaros Konstantinos Livadaros Lurker Registered: 2002-05-10 Posts: 3 Loc: Athens	Hi all. Here is a good one. I started changing Win95 clients to Win2k a while ago. I am using Kix to change the X: mapping from the users home directory (which is stated in the User Manager For Domains) to another path. Ok, this works fine but for no apparent reason, after a while the X: mapping changes back to the users home directory. Here is a small sample from my script: IF EXIST ("x:") USE x: /DEL ENDIF USE x: $pdc+"\FIN" As you can see, with those lines, the X: mapping is first being deleted and then mapped to the FIN share of the PDC. And suddenly....... it changes back to the users home directory!!!!! This only applies to Win2k SP2 clients. The PDC is NT4 SP6. Any ideas??? Thanx in advance _________________________ Amiga rulez!

I mention that although the X: drive is connected by the user manager for domains to the users directorty, the Kix is deleting this map and then it creates a new one(this is I want it to do). Although after a short while, the X: is automaticaly mapped again to the users home directory by Win2k. _________________________ Amiga rulez!

BrianTX BrianTX Korg Regular Registered: 2002-04-01 Posts: 895	The domain setting overrides your local setting (at least) every time you open a new process that uses the %homedrive% variable. You cannot set a permanent local variable that will override the domain setting. Brian
