Hello Everyone,

I am new to this forum and to scripting with KixTart so be kind. Is it possible to disconnect mapped drives using KixTart with out putting the kix32.exe on all my WidowsXP desktops? Right now I am running the .exe from where I keep my login scripts on my domain conrtollers. In Active Directory on eacy users account on the profile tab is where I state the login script. Should I state the logoff script in my group policy like this: ADD - kix32 ITLogoff.kix?

Thank you for all of your help.

Jon

Jonathan,
Welcome to the board. You're off to a bad start, posting a poll instead of a new topic. Now you've been told to RTFM. Maybe that's what you get for asking us to 'be kind'. Perhaps reverse psychology might of worked.

First of all you needn't 'put' KiX on any 'desktop'. If you wanted to copy to %windir% you could, or you can run it from a share.

How you run your scripts depend on whether you have any legacy Wintendos. Most ppl start KiX with a BATch file and not many do GPO scripts, especially logoff scripts. With the GPO scripts, the placement of the scripts and binaries are crucial.

perhaps I should have been more specific...

If you need to know how to specifiy how to format the command line to have kix run a script that was called as the logon script... that is in the manual.

In case of a logoff script, or a script called from a GPO... well, I don't know... I don't know if the %0\..\Kix32.exe %0\..\script.kix works the same way in an AD environment as the netlogon folder

I suppose that if you placed the kix script in the PDC (or wherever AD keeps the netlogon folder) replication should take care of the rest
