PDAGuy PDAGuy Fresh Scripter Registered: 2002-07-16 Posts: 13 Loc: Chicago, IL	Ok, I have a weird one here. I have been using KiXtart for 15+ years now in multiple different companies. I have moved on to a new company and I am testing it out and I appear to be having a problem I have never had before. I am trying to delete a registry VALUE. Code: DelValue("HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run","CitrixReceiver") This is returning the error 5 - Access Denied I am an administrator on the computer. I can delete the value manually, any idea why this isn't allowing me to remove this? I know there are other ways to accomplish this, however, KiXtart always just worked for me so I would rather stick with something I "know" as opposed to adding a new variable to the mix. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

If so, if UAC is enabled, try running the script from a command prompt "as administrator" and see if that works. So by running command prompt as an administrator I was able to remove the values HOWEVER, I would like this to run during a login script so I am gleaning the only way to get this to work is to turn UAC down to its lowest value or do some other work around. If you have any suggestions I would welcome them. Thank you very much for your quick response and resolution, regardless. Tom

That being said, since I should be running with a full token do you have any ideas why I am being denied deletion when the login script is running but does work when I run within the command prompt as administrator? Could it be our environment isn't set up correctly? Everything was set up by a consulting company before I got here and I am finding some huge holes so that wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility. Thanks Tom

Allen Allen KiX Supporter Registered: 2003-04-19 Posts: 4574 Loc: USA	Aside from noticing launchapp in the link/page you provided, i got no further, mainly just wanted to make sure if was using launchapp to know there has been a conversion. And that is correct, launchapp is for running as the user, especially when using a Startup script. _________________________ (... better days ahead)
