Dear,
The usage of Kixtart is depending of your environment.
Mostly we are using two type of environments:
- organization is using some like Norton Antivirus Corporation Edition
or McAfee Management Console. in this situation you are controlling
it from one location. most important tasks are:
- installing virus software
- keep virus DAT files up to date
- control virus settings.
mostly it will be used by big organizations. - by small organizations mostly single versions of virus software
will be installed. to keep it up to date there must be an internet
connection.
a good one is the live-update mode of some manufactors.
What can kixtart do for you:
- get information about actual virus software, virus DAT and settings.
- cleaning old DAT files.
- updating software when no 'management console' software is available
and not all clients contains internet connection.
for good ideas with McAfee see indeed the link http://www.utdallas.edu/~pauls/scripts.html
greetings.
