The platform you run Unison on should not matter as long as you are on XP or higher.
Looking at my example again, I see that logging is enabled (log=true) but a log file is not defined. You'll need to add a line to complete the configuration.
Unison is a great tool with detailed documentation. My main criticism is the format of the documentation. Everything is in alphabetical order, which does make the information easy to find IF you know what you're looking for! It might be better if all of the related commands were grouped together, or at least had the typical Unix "see also" section.
I'd strongly suggest that you review the docs and available parameters.. you might find something useful for your needs that I haven't needed. There are lots of options available. The ones I illustrated were basically the minimum required for my music library sync script.
Anyway - I'm glad you got it running! Let us know how it works out in prod over the WAN.
