I have Unison running as a service on my media server at home. I use it to sync my external HDD with the music library using a Bat file and copy of Unison on the HDD. I'll post the configs from that when I get home to jumpstart your Unison setup.
Unison isn't difficult, but it takes a bit to get the hang of it if you haven't used Unix/Linux tools before.
