NTDOC NTDOC Administrator Registered: 2000-07-28 Posts: 11625 Loc: CA	Just trying to get an idea of what other Companies around the World are using for their AntiVirus solution. We have Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition v8.1 for both Server and Workstation. What name and version do you use for the following. SERVER ? WORKSTATION ?

The big pig I complain about is the Frameworkservice (Architect). We use McAfee Version 7.1 with ePO 3.01. Both serve use well and are automated with DAT deployment, etc. Sheesh. Breaker Breaker Hey THIS is FUN Registered: 2001-06-15 Posts: 268 Loc: Yorkshire, England	We use McAfee v7.00 with ePO 3.0.1, although I have also recently implemented Trend ServerProtect, since McAfee has caused a few problems on our Citrix/terminal servers. Also using Trend on file servers, as apparently Veritas Storage Replicator will not play nicely with McAfee either. We use Antigen on our Exchange boxes, due to its handy ability to scan message queues as well as info stores. Personally I don't like having such a disparate AV solution, but I've never been involved with the decision making processes, just been told to implement the decisions. _________________________ ================================================ Breaker

I have actually attempted this on a workstation in the past with both Norton AV and McAfee and they DID NOT like being together. Each one kept stepping on the other one trying to gain control of files for checking. It is very easy to maintain, although it sucks as far as reporting unless you want to work with ams logs or export the SSC data to excel. I have had very few problems with Norton once it's installed...

We'll be upgrading to EPO and the latest AV suite this month. Only had a little problem once when some user put a fubarred disk in his wksta's drive. No programs like i.e. Office and company software can't be running on them. NAV is updated automatically. McAfee is updated manually. Such environments were required because we discover that in some cases NAV was missing something on some computers with some very specific company software. Bryce Bryce KiX Supporter Registered: 2000-02-29 Posts: 3167 Loc: Houston TX	Mcafee Enterprise 7.1 on workstations/servers groupshield 5.20 for exchange the system runs it self workstations autoupdate after 15min of inactivity, servers autoupdate every night. this mydoom outbreak, didn't even phase us well aside from all the question i get about emails from outside the company, increased email demand on 3rd party email servers causing slow delivery of email that needs to be delivered now!! bah!
