jvd626 jvd626 Fresh Scripter Registered: 2010-07-22 Posts: 6 Loc: Springfield, VA	Hello, I put a gpo using kix on computer configuration on startup/shutdown to install a program but the startup script doesn't wait for the program to finish. Here is my script: script.kix file: SHELL "%COMSPEC% /E:1024 /C setup.exe" It works when I run manually though... Any ideas?

Allen Allen KiX Supporter Registered: 2003-04-19 Posts: 4567 Loc: USA	Not all programs exit the way you would expect. Some call other exes and in fact do end the original process. You can try something like the following, but there is no guarantee it's going to work. Code: shell "%comspec% /c start /wait setup.exe"

As Cap'n Bligh - er - Allen mentioned, the Start /Wait might help. For managed installs that trigger secondary EXEs like Oracle does, we've had to actually use a tool to list the processes, identify the child process that Oracle launched, and then monitor the processes continuously until that process ended. Then we could proceed with additional customization processes, log updates, etc. Glenn _________________________ Actually I am a Rocket Scientist! $\:D$
