I must be doing something wrong.
I've added a simple COM port mapping for some scales to talk thru my Citrix farm. The mapping wrks fine in a CMD file but I can't get the port to map in my KIX script.

I've tried different variation of the following command
Use com1 "\\client\com1:"

What am I doing wrong?

Hello bart777,

Have you done some searching in this board? I have and it seems your not the first. I don't know why a 'use COM1: "\\client\Com1:"' wouldn't work,
but I'm curious and will test this tomorrow.

I've found a post from a long time ago.

RobinHood used the code below, which did the trick for him at the time.
 Code:
use "com1" /d
SHELL 'CMD /C net use "COM1" "\\Client\COM1:"'

Thanks Bo,

I didn't find that one in my search. Then again I've gone a bit cross-eyed from all of the google searches.

I will give that code a try and let everyone know what it does.

Bart

I did some testing today on our MPS 4.0 environment and below are the results.

 Code:
Running "COM1:" "\\Client\COM1:"
Result : No network provider accepted the given network path.

Running COM1: "\\Client\COM1:"
Result : No network provider accepted the given network path.

Running SHELL 'CMD /C net use "COM1" "\\Client\COM1:"'
Result : The operation completed successfully.

Does the SHELL command works for you also?

It's odd....
It works for me but not for another user.

It worked once for him but hasn't worked since. Mine connects each time.

Can you catch the error for that user?
