Dear KiXtart supporters,

Believe it or not, but attached to this email is BETA 1 of KiXtart 2010 4.61… It’s been a while, but I’ve finally had some quality time to work on some of the outstanding issues.

If you get a chance, please have a look at this build and let me know what you think!

This update contains the following fixes & enhancements:

· Fixed issue with handling of EXIT codes
· Fixed issue with COPYing files to a directory (without specifying a backslash)
· Fixed issue with writing large DWORD values to the registry
· Updated @PRODUCTTYPE to correctly report Server 2008
· Added REPLACE function

Check out KIX2010.TXT for more detail on the enhancements. (Note that the manual has not been updated yet.)

Please feel free to share this build on your websites or via email.

As always, thanks for all your support and input.

Ruud van Velsen

Nice to see Ruud has the "itch" again.

Can I request a toggle of the Task Bar as an enhancement in Kix4.61?

I vote no.
first, I'm not even sure what you mean with that.
do you mean, when someone has autohide in taskbar, you could show it with that function/command?
secondly, it sounds way specific and I can't see wide usage for it.

Sorry, my joy at seeing a new beta got the better of me. I meant a toggle of the QuickLaunch toolbar.

I agree completely about the autohide taskbar.

There is a UDF for toggling the QuickLaunch bar.

IMHO this should not be an embedded function in the kix executable.

ToggleQL() - Shows or Hides the QuickLaunch bar

Yes, there is a UDF() but it requires the installation of a .DLL file (Dynawrap.dll) to function correctly. Are we convinced the .DLL will always be compatible across the OS suites?

Just because our generous developers have created and posted UDF()s or workarounds should not be a reason to prevent Rudd from considering a KiX enhancement.

Just my opinion.

That's where the suggestion to have the ability to call a dll would seem so useful.

Ok, I see the benefit of calling a DLL

Maybe Ruud will take that on board.

So, something like a RUNDLL type function?
Interesting suggestion... I'll look into this.
