Hello, It's been many years since I posted here. I have my Kixtart log on scripts that have been working fine for me since about 2001 (4.22.) I never bothered getting into anything further because I didn't have much time to dedicate to it and we ran alot of Windows 9x clients.
I see Kixtart 2010 has some cool features with the UDF and all of that. I would like to learn how to integrate this stuff. Now that we actually have about 90% Win2k+ computers I will be able to use more of these cool new features. I do still have some legacy stuff out there but I don't really need to worry about them as much anymore.
So finally to my question. Will my old scripts all function ok if I upgrade to 2010?

Welcome back, John,
You'll stand a pretty good chance of success moving to 4.53. 4.60 has a quirk or two, particularly related to locating the default script, and dealing with command-line args.
Easiest way to test is to put a current version in your netlogon folder, renamed to "kix324.53.exe", for example, and then change YOUR login profile to run that version of kix with your regular script. It should be fairly easy to determine if everything works, while only potentially inconveniencing yourself.

Kixtart 4.60 still has some COM quirks too. Not able to pin-point them exactly though - just know that some of my old scripts that work fine under 4.53 break in 4.60
I will be able to use more of these cool new features. I do still have some legacy stuff out there but I don't really need to worry about them as much anymore.
