mobious, if you are trying to get a generic script running for users in this environment, you have a big problem. I was under the impression you were trying to write an Admin script where you want to check group for a person logging onto the Server.
Without a domain, where are the users logging on? How do you plan to run a script? Without a domain there is no single identity for a user. How do plan on setting up security? There are many questions here.
